This policy explains what information LogShift ("we", "us", the "app") handles, why, who can see it, and your choices. It applies to the LogShift mobile app.
LogShift uses Google sign-in. When you sign in we receive and store:
We do not receive your Google password.
When a workplace adds your email, or you join with a 6-digit code, we store that you belong to that workplace and your role there (employee or owner).
We store the times you are checked in and out, whether each time was automatic or entered by you, and any reason you add (for example when you check out early). From these the app works out your hours and breaks.
If you ask to correct a time or ask for leave, we store the request, the reason you give, and whether your workplace approved or declined it.
If you run a workplace, we store its name and area, its shift (work days, start and end times, when someone counts as late), and its check-in spot: one set of coordinates for the gate and a check-in distance. This is the location of the workplace, not of any person.
LogShift asks for location access, including "Allow all the time", so it can check you in and out even when the app is closed. Your phone compares your position with the workplace's check-in spot and only tells the app when you cross that boundary. Your location is not sent to us or to your workplace, and we do not keep a history of where you have been. When tracking is paused nothing is logged at all.
We use this information only to:
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app.
Your attendance is first saved on your phone, so the app works without a connection, and is then uploaded to Supabase, our backend and authentication provider. Our database is hosted in Mumbai, India. Access is limited by database rules so each person only sees what is described in section 3.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
We keep your information while you have a LogShift account. If a workplace is deleted, its members, attendance and requests are deleted with it.
Your workplace may need attendance records for payroll or legal reasons; if so, ask them for a copy before you delete your account.
LogShift is a workplace attendance app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, CCPA, or India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
