Keepsy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

The short version

This policy explains what information Keepsy ("we", "us", the "app") handles, why, and your choices. It applies to the Keepsy mobile app.

1. Information we collect

Photos and media - accessed on your device, never collected

Keepsy needs access to the photos on your device so you can view and sort them. This access happens entirely on your device. We do not upload, copy, transmit, or store your photos on any server, and we cannot see them. When you sort, move, or delete a photo, that action is carried out locally through your device's operating system.

Folders and organization - stored locally

The folders you create and your sorting activity are saved in a database on your device. This information is never sent to us, and we cannot see it.

If you have Android's backup turned on, your device may include this database in the backup it makes to your own Google account, so that your folders and sorting history can be restored if you reinstall Keepsy or move to a new phone. That backup belongs to you, not to us: it is held in your Google account, encrypted with a key derived from your device's screen lock, and we have no access to it and cannot read it. You can turn Android backup off, or delete the backup, from your device's settings.

Account information - only if you sign in

Signing in is optional; the core sorting features work without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive and store the basic profile information Google shares with us:

We use this solely to create and secure your Keepsy account and to show your name and picture inside the app. We do not receive your Google password.

What we do not collect

2. How we use information

We use your name, email address, and account identifier only to:

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app.

3. How your information is stored

Photos remain on your device. Your folders and sorting history are stored on your device, and may also be included in Android's backup to your own Google account, as described in section 1. Account information (your email and account identifier) is stored using Supabase, our backend and authentication provider, on secure servers. Access is protected by industry-standard measures.

4. Third-party services

Keepsy relies on two third-party services, and only when you sign in:

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as you have a Keepsy account. You can remove your data at any time:

6. Children's privacy

Keepsy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, CCPA, or India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
